Explore the extensionThe extension cannot connect to Google Tasks
Confirm Chrome is online, then open Traverce and sign in with the Google account that holds your task lists. If sign-in has expired, sign out of Traverce and reconnect the account.
If you use more than one Google account, make sure Google Tasks, Google Calendar, and the Traverce sidebar are using the same one.
Traverce is not appearing in Google Tasks or Calendar
Open Chrome's Extensions page and confirm Traverce is installed and enabled, then refresh Google Tasks or Google Calendar. In Calendar, open the Tasks view before looking for Traverce.
A task, list, or change is missing
Check the selected Google account and task list, then refresh the board. Open Google Tasks directly to see whether the item is there. A recent change can take a moment to appear in another Traverce surface.
The side view will not open
Open Traverce from Chrome's Extensions menu and pin it for easier access. If the sidebar stays closed, refresh the active tab, restart Chrome, and confirm Traverce is still enabled.
My morning plan or Today Focus looks out of date
Refresh the Traverce board and confirm every open Traverce surface is signed in to the same Google account. If a second tab or Traverce view was already open, close and reopen it so it can load the latest choices.
Seeing two alerts?
If you use a Google Tasks workspace, Google Calendar can send its own alert for any task that has a date. That alert shows the task's notes just as they are saved, so you may see lines in [brackets]. Traverce uses those lines to keep track of reminders, dates, priority, and your plan. The Traverce apps and the Chrome extension hide them.
To get just one alert, open Google Calendar, go to Settings, and turn off notifications for Tasks. Your Traverce reminder, a Pro feature, still arrives with Complete and Snooze.

This does not happen with an iCloud workspace.
Using the Traverce Tasks calendar
The Traverce Tasks calendar puts your dated tasks on a calendar, so you can drag a task into your day. It is free, and it stays off until you turn it on.
Turn it on. In Capture, open Settings, then Planning, then Traverce Tasks Calendar. It works with either workspace: with Google Tasks it is a calendar in Google Calendar, and with iCloud it is an iCloud calendar on your Apple devices. In the extension, open Settings in the sidebar or the overlay and turn on Show tasks on a Traverce Tasks calendar. The extension can do this in Chrome only. The first time, Google asks you to allow two calendar permissions. The app and the extension share the same Traverce Tasks calendar in Google.
What you see. One event for each task with a date, from today through the next 60 days. Tasks carried over from earlier days, and tasks past their Due Date, show on today. In Google Calendar, carried-over tasks are orange and tasks past their Due Date are red, and you can change both colors in Settings. An iCloud calendar has one color, so a late task says why at the top of its notes. The events never alert and show you as free, so they never block your time.
Timebox a task. Drag a task's event into a time slot and Traverce saves that day and time on the task. Stretch the event to change how long the task takes. Drag it back to all day to clear the time. A task you give a time lasts 30 minutes unless you change the default length in Settings.
What it never does. The calendar never adds, finishes, renames, or deletes a task. Finish and delete tasks in Traverce (or in Gmail, with Google Tasks). If you rename an event, the task's title comes back. If you delete an event, it comes back too. Events you make yourself on the Traverce Tasks calendar are left alone, and Traverce never touches your other calendars.
Hide Google's own Tasks calendar. With Google Tasks, Google Calendar also shows your tasks on its own. In Google Calendar's left sidebar, under My calendars, turn off Tasks. If you leave it on, every task shows twice and Google sends its own alerts.
Good to know.
- A drag reaches the task at the next sync: when you open Capture or the extension, or at the regular check in the background. It is not instant.
- A time set in Gmail, or by dragging Google's own task chip, is not seen by Traverce and does not show on the Traverce Tasks calendar.
- With Google's Tasks calendar turned off, you cannot check tasks off in Google Calendar. Finish them in Traverce or Gmail.
- An iCloud Traverce Tasks calendar shows in Google Calendar only if you add your iCloud calendar there.
- When you switch workspaces in Capture, Traverce clears the events from the old workspace's Traverce Tasks calendar.
- Turn it off in the same place at any time. Traverce removes the events it made and leaves the empty calendar, which you can delete.
How do I reset or remove the extension?
You can sign out inside Traverce, revoke Traverce access from your Google Account's third-party connections, or remove the extension from Chrome. Your tasks remain in Google Tasks. Read the Traverce Privacy Policy for details.

Confirm that your device is online, then open Capture and sign in with the Google account that holds your task lists. If the connection has expired, sign out in Capture and reconnect the account.
You can also revoke Traverce access from your Google Account's third-party connections, then connect again in the app.
A list or task is missing
Check that Capture and Google Tasks use the same Google account. Open Google Tasks to confirm the item is there, then return to Capture and refresh. A recently sent task may take a moment to appear elsewhere.
Voice capture is not listening
On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, then Privacy & Security, and make sure Traverce Capture can use both Microphone and Speech Recognition. Reopen Capture and try again. You can always type or edit the task before sending it.
The widget is not updating
Open Capture once so the app can refresh, then return to the Home Screen. If the widget still looks stale, remove it and add it again. Low Power Mode can delay widget updates.
A task did not send
Keep the draft in Capture and check your internet connection. Retry when you are online. Before sending again, check the selected Google Tasks list to make sure the first attempt did not already arrive.
