Drag a task into your day.

Your dated tasks can sit on a Traverce Tasks calendar, where dragging one into a time slot timeboxes it. Every timed task now has a length, and Traverce understands more of the ways you say a date.

Timebox a task on the Traverce Tasks calendar

  • Turn it on in Settings > Planning, and your dated tasks appear on a calendar called Traverce Tasks, in Google Calendar or in your iCloud calendars, depending on where your tasks live.
  • Drag a task into a time slot and Traverce saves that day, time, and length on the task.
  • Tasks carried over from earlier days show on today and say so.
  • The calendar never adds, finishes, or deletes a task, and its events never alert. Free.

Every timed task has a length

  • A task with a time now lasts 30 minutes unless you change it, on the task or as the default in Settings > Planning. Free.

Dates the way you say them

  • Traverce understands "next week," "this weekend," "end of the month," "a week from today," and a bare hour like "standup at 9."
  • "Due Friday" lands on Friday, and a date never lands in the past. Free.

Smaller things that add up

  • The New Task sheet has every field the task page has: repeat, due date, priority, and tags.
  • A reminder made on another device is scheduled sooner, and one you missed while the app was closed arrives once, marked "Missed at."
  • The evening review also tells you how much is carried over from earlier days.
  • Moving a task to another day keeps its time.

Free and Pro

Know when a task starts, when it is due, and what matters most.

Tasks can carry a Start Date and a Due Date, a priority, and repeats on almost any schedule. Today's calendar can sit beside your plan.

A start date and a due date

  • Start Date is when you plan to begin. The task shows up on your Plan that day.
  • Due Date is when it has to be done. Traverce keeps it in view so it never sneaks up on you.
  • Say "pay rent by Friday" for a due date, or "start the report Monday, due Friday" for both.
  • Tasks due today or overdue show on the Plan tab under Due. Free.

Priority puts first things first

  • Mark a task high, medium, or low priority by saying "high priority" or "urgent", or by picking it on the task.
  • When you plan your day, tasks due soon and tasks that matter most come first. Free.

Repeat on the schedule you actually keep

  • Repeat every other week, on chosen days, on the third Monday, on the last day of the month, or a set time after you finish.
  • Checking a repeating task off moves its due date along with it. Free.

A heads-up before a reminder

  • Add up to two early alerts, from 5 minutes to 2 days ahead. Part of Traverce Capture Pro.

Today's calendar while you plan

  • Turn it on to see today's events on the Plan tab and while you choose your Push Point.
  • It is optional and read only. Your calendar stays on your iPhone and is never changed or sent anywhere. Free.

Free and Pro

Repeat any task, and say "remind me" without naming a time.

Any dated task can now repeat, every task opens on a simpler page, and a reminder that names a day but no time goes off at a time you choose.

Any task with a start date can repeat

  • Repeat a task every day, on weekdays, or every week, month, or year.
  • Tick off one occurrence and it moves to the next, whether you complete it in the app, from a widget, or from the notification.
  • Repeating is free. An alert at a set time is part of Traverce Capture Pro.

Every task opens on a simpler page

  • Title and notes sit at the top, then the start date, time, and repeat, then the list and hashtags, then subtasks.

"Remind me" works without a time

  • Say "remind me to call Mom tomorrow" or "remind me to go shopping in two days" and the reminder goes off at 9 AM that day.
  • Choose a different default time in Settings. A time you say always wins.
  • Reminders are part of Traverce Capture Pro. Without it, the time is still saved and shown on the task.

Tasks made from Gmail open the email

  • A task made with Add to Tasks in Gmail shows a Gmail chip that opens the email through Google Tasks, or in your browser if you prefer.

Capture understands you more reliably

  • "In two days," "in a week," and "in a couple of days" are understood every time, whether spoken as words or numbers.
  • Clearing a capture while still recording now starts fresh, so cleared words no longer come back.

Free and Pro

Two Google accounts on one phone, and a task that opens ready to edit.

Switch between a personal and a work account in a tap, say which list a task belongs in, and change any task right where you find it.

Switch between Google accounts in a tap

  • Keep a personal and a work Google account on the same phone and switch between them from Settings or the list menu on the Tasks tab.
  • Each account keeps its own lists, drafts, history, and plan on your phone.
  • Captures waiting to sync stay with the account you made them in and send when you switch back.
  • Switching is free.

Say which list a task goes in

  • With Traverce Capture Pro, "add milk to the grocery list" saves a task called "milk" straight into your Grocery list.
  • With Pro, "add candy, milk, and gatorade to the grocery list" becomes three tasks, in the order you said them.
  • Name a list you don't have yet and Traverce asks before creating it.
  • Without Pro, the task still saves with a clean title to the list shown on screen.

Every task opens ready to edit

  • Tap any task and change its title, notes, date, time, reminder, hashtags, or list on one page.
  • Save appears as soon as something changes, and you're asked before unsaved changes are thrown away.
  • Links on a task show as a chip you can tap to open.

Your plan travels with you

  • Today's goal, your Goal task, and your Push Point now move between the app and the Traverce Chrome extension in both directions.
  • Add a goal right from the Plan tab, without running the Morning Ritual.
  • Select several tasks and complete, reschedule, move, or delete them together, with one undo for the whole batch. This is free.

Easier to reach on the Capture screen

  • If a recording can't be turned into text, Play, Retry, and Discard sit at the bottom of the screen, and Discard can be undone.
  • The Undo message shows right above your tags instead of covering the buttons, and the microphone sits centered in its space.

Free and Pro

Alarms for the things you cannot miss.

A reminder can now ring through Silent and Focus, repeat on a schedule, and answer to Siri. This release also moved reminders and alarms into Traverce Capture Pro.

Alarms and repeating reminders

  • Mark a reminder to ring through Silent and Focus. It rings like an alarm rather than arriving as a notification, shows on the Lock Screen while it is pending, and asks for its own permission the first time. It is off unless you ask for it, reminder by reminder.
  • Repeat a reminder daily, on weekdays, weekly, monthly or yearly. Completing one occurrence moves it to the next rather than ending the series.
  • Ask Siri to snooze or complete a reminder by name, without opening the app.
  • A reminder you missed has its own place in the Plan tab, with the time it went by — and it stays there rather than being quietly rolled to tomorrow.

A change to what is free

  • Reminders and alarms are now part of Traverce Capture Pro. Every task can still carry a date and a time for free, and that time is shown on the task as always — Pro is what makes it reach you at the moment.
  • The Morning Ritual, the Plan tab, your Push Point, and the optional morning and evening nudges are unaffected by this change.

Also fixed

  • Completing or snoozing a reminder from its notification could quit the app. The action always went through, but the app closed immediately afterwards. It no longer does.
  • Opening the app could take half a minute, and could briefly behave as though you were signed out before righting itself. Opening is quick again.
  • A reminder saved while offline could arrive even when you had turned its alert off, and a repeating one saved offline came back only once.
  • Traverce now works at the largest text sizes across Capture, Plan and your task list.

Reminders, and a day that has a beginning and an end.

Speak a time and Traverce makes it a reminder that actually arrives. Optional morning and evening nudges give the day a start and a close.

Reminders

  • Say “remind me to take the bins out at 6pm tomorrow” and Traverce makes it a reminder that arrives at 6pm. Reminders are a kind of task, so they live in your lists alongside everything else — and you can filter them out when you want the list without them.
  • Times work the way you say them: “tomorrow at 5”, “friday at 8”, or “in ten minutes”.
  • Act on a reminder from the notification itself. Mark it done or push it back without opening the app, offline included.
  • A reminder you missed stays missed. It waits under Missed on the Plan tab, where you can reschedule it or mark it done, instead of quietly moving itself to tomorrow — because “6pm today” and “6pm tomorrow” are not the same promise.
  • A task can carry a time without interrupting you. Turn the reminder off and the time stays on the task.

A beginning and an end to the day

  • Turn on an optional morning nudge that carries today's goal, and an evening review to close the day.
  • Both are off until you choose them, and both live in one place in Settings — along with whether reminders are getting through at all.

Also in this release

  • Editing a long capture is no longer a fight with the keyboard. Your words stay where you left them and keep the whole screen while you type.
  • Signing in with Google Tasks takes one approval screen instead of two, and brings you back to the app instead of dropping you at the Home Screen.
  • Traverce now works at the largest text sizes. Capture, Plan and your task list lay out properly rather than overlapping, truncating or hiding what you typed.
  • Starts Today shows work from every list, groups anything carried over from an earlier day, and moves what you did not choose to tomorrow.
  • Choose a default list once, and captures go there until you say otherwise.
  • Filter your tasks by several hashtags at once.
  • Thoughts added during the Morning Ritual braindump now appear in your capture history.
  • Pick a few starter hashtags while setting up, and see one confirmation when a task saves rather than two.
