1.61.4–1.64.3

Your tasks on a calendar you can drag.

Turn on the Traverce Tasks calendar and your dated tasks show up as events you can move and stretch. A task can now have a time and a length, and it keeps them when you move it to another day.

See your tasks on a calendar

  • Turn on the Traverce Tasks calendar in Settings and your dated tasks appear as events on their own Google calendar.
  • Drag an event to another day or time, or stretch it, and the task changes to match.
  • Choose the colors for overdue and carried over tasks, and how long a new event lasts.
  • It shares one calendar with Traverce Capture, and turning it off removes every event Traverce made.

Give a task a time and a length

  • The start date picker now has Time and Length rows, and the time shows on the task's card, row and task sheet.
  • Drag a timed task to another day and it keeps its time, with Change time offered right beside Undo.
  • The date picker stays on screen in a short window, and you can drag it aside by the bar at its top.

Smaller fixes

  • When your board is organized by start date, the first column is now called Carried over, because those tasks are not late.
  • Changing a repeat or picking the same day again no longer wipes out a time you set in Gmail.

Priorities, custom repeats, and tags you can add with one click.

Mark what matters most, repeat a task on the schedule it actually follows, and tag new tasks without typing the tag out. Tasks you shape in Traverce Capture now arrive on the board exactly as you left them.

Mark what matters most

  • Give any task a high, medium or low priority from its card or its task sheet. It shows as !!!, !! or ! beside the title.
  • Sort and filter the board by priority, so the important work can sit at the top of every column.
  • When you choose tasks in the Morning Ritual, higher priority tasks come first.
  • Tasks that are due today or overdue now gather under Needs attention in the browser panel.

Repeat a task on the schedule it really follows

  • Beyond daily, weekly, monthly and yearly, a task can now repeat every few days or weeks, on the weekdays you pick, on a set weekday of the month, or on the last day of the month.
  • A task can also repeat a set time after you finish it, for chores that only matter once the last one is done.
  • Repeats set in Traverce and in Traverce Capture follow the same rules and use the same names, so a task moves forward the same way wherever you complete it.

Tag a task without typing the tag

  • Quick Add, the browser panel and each column's Add task box now show the tags you already use as chips under the title.
  • Click a chip to add its tag and click it again to take it off. Tab finishes a tag you have started typing.

Tasks from Traverce Capture arrive as you left them

  • Priorities, due dates, reminders and repeats set in Traverce Capture now show on the board, and editing the task in Traverce keeps them in place.
  • Reminders themselves still belong to Traverce Capture Pro. The extension simply leaves them where they are.

Smaller fixes

  • Tasks made with Gmail's Add to Tasks now show the Gmail chip that links back to the email.
  • On a board organised by due date, dragging a task to another column now changes its due date, and the message names the new day.
  • Trackpad swipes scroll the board sideways even when the pointer is over a column.
  • Sign in now runs through Traverce's verified Google project, so you will be asked to sign in once after this update.

1.52.0–1.57.3

Your board can stand your task lists side by side.

Switch the board from date columns to one column per task list, with dates still grouping the work inside each one. You can also create, rename and delete lists from the board itself, and Traverce is careful about the one of those that cannot be undone.

See your board by list, not only by date

  • A Group by switch puts one column per task list beside the usual date columns.
  • Your dates are untouched either way. Grouping changes what the board shows, never when a task is scheduled, so switching back puts everything exactly where it was.
  • Each list column keeps a readable width rather than nine lists squeezing into one screen, with arrows at the edges of the board to reach the rest.
  • Settings lets you choose that width, because a large monitor and a laptop do not want the same one.
  • The list filter in the header chooses which lists get a column, so you can narrow the board to the two or three you are actually working in.
  • Today Focus follows your Push Point into whichever list holds it, so your plan stays in front of you.

Dates still organise the work inside each list

  • Within a list column, tasks are grouped under Overdue, Today, Next 7 days, Later and No Date.
  • The Organize by switch chooses which date does that grouping, exactly as it does for the date columns.
  • Collapse a section you are not working in. It keeps its count, so nothing is hidden quietly.
  • A list whose tasks all fall in one group is shown as a plain list, with no heading to read past.

Manage your task lists from the board

  • The Lists menu now creates, renames and deletes task lists, alongside the filter it already had.
  • A rename shows immediately on the column and in the menu rather than after a pause.
  • Deleting a list also deletes the tasks in it and cannot be undone, so Traverce asks twice and tells you how many open tasks will go with it.
  • Traverce will not delete your only list, and will not delete the list holding the hidden task it uses to keep your goals in step with Traverce Capture. That list is marked in the menu, so you can see it before you try.
  • If today's Goal Step or Push Point lives in a list you delete, Traverce says so first, then clears it from Today Focus rather than leaving your plan pointing at work that no longer exists.
  • Dragging a task onto another list's column moves it there, and says plainly that the move cannot be undone.

Your notes come back exactly as you wrote them

  • Editing a task no longer reformats the rest of its notes. A trailing newline, a run of blank lines, and indentation on the first line all survive a save.
  • Editing and saving the same note repeatedly now leaves it unchanged, where before it could slowly drift.

A few things now happen when they should

  • Day's End offers itself when your cutoff time passes, instead of waiting until you touch something else.
  • The planner panel closes when you click the board behind it, the way its own close button always has.
  • The corner dismiss on the Today Focus card is now a quieter Hide for now, so it reads as tidying rather than discarding.

1.50.0–1.51.1

Your board can show today's work without everything you will ever do.

Hide whole columns you do not want in front of you, and tell the Later column how far ahead to reach, so work that is months away stops competing for attention every morning. Columns also gained two new ways to order them, and a captured page can be given a start date as you save it.

Choose which columns your board shows

  • Settings now switches the Overdue, Next 7 days, Later and No Date columns on and off.
  • Hiding a column changes only your board. The tasks keep their dates and come back the moment you show it again.
  • The columns that remain share the freed width, so a trimmed board reads properly on a narrow window instead of squeezing five.
  • Today always stays, because the task you have chosen to give your attention lives there.

The Later column reaches only as far as you want it to

  • Set a horizon of two weeks, one month, three months, six months, a year, or no limit at all.
  • Anything dated past that point is counted at the foot of the column rather than filling it.
  • One click shows it when you want it, and the column returns to your horizon the next time you open Traverce.
  • Nothing is held back quietly. The task count tells you whenever a hidden column or the horizon is keeping work out of sight.

Order a column by when you made or last touched a task

  • Two new sorts, Recently Created and Recently Modified, join the existing ones on every column.
  • Any sort except your own manual order can be reversed in place, and each column remembers its own direction.
  • A column's name now sits above its controls, so the name is never shortened to make room for them.

Capture a page for the day you actually mean to read it

  • The capture preview now takes a start date, using the same picker as the add composer.
  • A page meant for Thursday can be captured for Thursday, instead of being captured today and rescheduled afterwards.
  • Renaming a capture no longer renames its own link back to the page it came from.
  • Clicking anywhere off an open task now closes it, and you are only asked to finish when the task is holding unsaved work.

Insights — a private view of how you have actually been working.

See what you capture, what you finish, and how often your Push Point gets the attention you set aside for it. It is calculated in your browser and never leaves it.

What your last 30 days actually looked like

  • A new Insights view, one click away in the ••• menu on both the browser panel and the board.
  • Captures per day for the last 30 days, with a running streak, and a breakdown of where they come from — page captures, quick add, the panel, braindump.
  • Push Point history: your current streak, how many days you set one, and how many days it received the attention you meant it to.
  • Morning Ritual completion across the month, with late-start days distinguished from full runs.
  • Tasks completed per day, your most-used lists and hashtags, and what you decided about carried-over work — deferred, dropped, or made the Push Point.
  • Counts and dates only. Insights never records task titles, notes, page titles, or page URLs, and nothing about it is transmitted anywhere.
  • It reports what happened and leaves the conclusions to you. No day is marked missed, and nothing is scored.

Tasks captured on your phone now appear

  • A page saved from the Traverce Capture app arrives with no date, and the panel previously had nowhere to show it — it reached Google Tasks and then seemed to vanish.
  • Undated tasks now have their own Unscheduled section in the panel, newest first, with a “Show all” toggle so a large backlog cannot bury today.
  • A capture stays undated on purpose. Noticing something is not the same as scheduling it.
  • Opening a captured task no longer squashes its own title and notes down to a single line.

Today's plan travels properly

  • Today's Goal now syncs between your browsers and the Capture app, alongside the Goal Step and Push Point that already did.
  • Setting one part of today's plan no longer erases another. Choosing a goal on your phone and a Push Point in the browser used to leave one of them behind.
  • The browser panel now honours the list filter you set on the board, instead of quietly showing tasks from lists you had filtered out.

Clearer names

  • The board's Altitude tab is now Activity, holding The Week's End and Insights side by side.
  • The carry-over prompts inside The Week's End are now headed “Needs a decision”, which is what each of them is asking for.
  • Importing your data file now restores Insights along with your settings, goals and Push Point history.

Trust what you see — and drive all of it from the keyboard.

Page capture shows you the task before it creates it, deleting is undoable wherever you do it, being signed out looks like being signed out, and everything Traverce keeps on your machine is yours to export, restore, or erase.

Review a capture before it becomes a task

  • Capturing the current page opens a preview first: the page title, the URL it read, the list the task will land in, and the #webpage tag it adds.
  • Correct the title, or decide not to keep it, before anything is created.
  • The preview informs rather than blocks — your task list stays usable while it is open.
  • Deleting a task from the board is now undoable for a few seconds, the way deleting from the browser panel already was. Nothing is removed from Google Tasks until that window closes, so an undo restores the task with its subtasks and position intact.

Export, restore, or clear your local data

  • A Your data section in Settings — on the board and in the panel — writes every Traverce preference and planning record in browser storage to a file you keep.
  • Import that file back and your settings, goals and Push Point history return, so the file is a real backup rather than just a record.
  • Or clear all of it in one confirmed step. Your Google Tasks are untouched and you stay signed in, because signing out is a separate control.
  • The export deliberately leaves out sign-in state, so the file you save never contains a credential. An import only adds and updates, and will not write sign-in state into your browser even if a file claims to contain it.

Being signed out now looks like being signed out

  • Signed out, the board used to render five empty columns, which reads as “you have no tasks.” It now shows a proper sign-in screen with a way back in.
  • If you left the Google Tasks permission checkbox unticked while signing in, Traverce detects it and walks you back through granting access, rather than stranding you at a login screen that could not fix the problem.
  • A connection failure is reported as a connection failure rather than as an empty list, and Retry now tells the two apart.
  • Opening the board no longer flashes an empty board for a moment before the sign-in screen.

A browser panel that keeps up

  • Add task in the panel now opens the same composer the board uses — title, start date, repeat, due date, and list — and the new task appears immediately instead of at the next refresh.
  • A due date or repeat rule set while adding a task is saved with it, and the new task opens on the first click.
  • Link chips are back on panel task rows and in the task sheet, so a captured page is one click from the page it came from.
  • The guided tour and the in-panel guide were rewritten to describe the panel that actually ships.

A panel and board you can drive from the keyboard

  • Open Settings, the guide, or a task, and Tab stays inside it instead of wandering into the board behind. Close it and focus returns to the control you opened it with.
  • Every dialog identifies itself to a screen reader, and so does every confirmation and error message.
  • Turn on Reduce Motion in your operating system and Traverce stops its spinners, progress fills and transitions.
